What is understood as sustainable procurement?
Sustainable procurement describes an award of a contract that takes account of environmental and social aspects and is in accordance with section 97 (3) of the German Act against Restraints of Competition (GWB). Thus, public clients can directly influence sustainability and the environment.
“Green procurement” is often used synonymously with “sustainable procurement”.
