Climate neutrality

What is the definition of climate neutrality?

Climate neutrality is achieved when there is a balance between carbon emissions and the uptake of carbon from the atmosphere in carbon sinks. This means that to achieve net zero emissions, all greenhouse gas emissions must be offset by carbon capture. A company can achieve carbon neutrality by reducing and offsetting its greenhouse gas emissions.

CO2 neutrality is often used synonymously with climate neutrality. (Note: Scientists make a slight distinction in the use of the two terms).
